NOTICE.......OverDrive now requires your library card number and a library-specific password in order to check out e-books and downloadable audio books. Please ask the front desk for the password, but be prepared to give staff your name and library card number for verification. Our phone number is 784-2019.
Our hours are Monday-Thursday, 10-7pm; Friday, 10-5pm; Saturday, 10-1 pm.
Stop by the front desk and ask us how you can Check Out a Librarian for your own personal computer, editing, or genealogy research use! This is an ongoing program.
No pre-registration is necessary for Drop-In Story Time attendees at the Wilson Public Library this fall.
There are two preschool and parent story times: Tuesdays from 11:30-12:00pm and Wednesdays from 11:00-11:30am. There is also a toddler and parent story time on Wednesdays from 10:30-10:50am.
Family story times are the first Saturday of each month from 11:-11:30 am.
Feel free to attend as often as you are able; there is always a story plus hands-on literacy or movement activities.
NO STORY TIME THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 23rd. Stock up and read with your family over Thanksgiving break!
Week of November 30: Wear your pajamas to story time as we read Simpson’s Sheep Won’t Go to Sleep by Nebraskan Bruce Arant—a tale that will amuse anyone who has faced bedtime with a little one. We’ll finish off our time with a simple sheep craft.
First Saturday Family Story Time: We will read The Elf on the Shelf by Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell. Families can then decorate pinecone trees with pompoms that will be adorable on a shelf or in your tree.
Week of December 7th: We will read Toys Meet Snowby Emily Jenkins and Paul Zelinsky. After our story we will make paper plate Christmas ornaments.
Week of December 16: The Elves’ First Christmas by Atskuko Morozumi will get us in the festive spirit. We will then decorate paper Christmas trees with dot stickers. Santa will be with us for story time this week!
NO STORY TIME THE WEEK OF December 21st. Story time will start up again in the New Year, the week of January 4th! Be sure to check out books to enjoy over the holidays and in your travels!

2nd-3rd grades: 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:00
4th-5th grades: 3rd Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:30
6th-8th grades: 4th Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:30
11/25: 10:30 am--Inside Out movie morning; open to all students! Free popcorn as always.
12/2: 3:00--A Christmas Story; open to all students, we supply the free popcorn!
Young Adult Programming:
The YA book club for 2015-16 will be reading books of theri own choosing each month. We are open to everyone in grades 6-12.
We will meet one Wednesday a month from 3-4 to discuss that month’s book.

December 1: Meadowlark Book Club will discuss A Dog Named Christmas by Greg Kincaid at 9:30 at Meadowlark Pointe, 2300 Avenue O. This event is free and open to the public.
December 4, 4:00 pm--Russ Erpelding of MONA presents on Eulabee Dix
December 14: The Library Book Club will meet Monday, December 14th at 1:30pm to discuss two books: Newbery Award winner Onion John by Joseph Krumgold and Michael L. Printz Award Best Book nominated Navigating Early by Clare Vanderpool.
December 15, 4-5 pm: Crafternoon: Recycling old Christmas cards into gift tags. Please register by December 14th.
